New Argon Laser on the Zeiss LSM 880 at the Epalinges campus

The Argon Laser of the Zeiss LSM 880 confocal microscope located at the Epalinges campus has been replaced. Users of this system should see a jump in signal intensity when using stored acquisition parameters on dyes excited by this laser. They should take this into consideration when comparing results. Live Cell Imaging Workshop Slides available in the download section

This workshop’s goal is to give you key elements to understand what is needed to optimize live cell imaging experiments. Widefield, spinning disk, what are the potential issues and how to address them. Available in the download section.

F-Techniques slides from the CIF Workshop available in the download section

Last week Luigi Bozzo presented the workshop on “F-Techniques”, explaining the principles of advanced imaging techniques like FRAP, FCS. FRET, FLIM and some possible combination of them, along with applications. The slides of the workshop are available to download as a PDF version in the download section. The CIF Staff

The Airyscan system for improved confocal resolution

The best way to achieve a 140 nm xy resolution and increase the S/N ratio about 4 to 8-fold for your confocal measurements! The technology from Carl Zeiss is available at the CIF in of our Bugnon (LSM 780), Dorigny (LSM 880) and Epalinges (LSM 880/800) facilities. The Airyscan technique is based on traditional confocal…
